Intuitive decision-making: what you need to know

I’m sure you would like to use more intuitive decision-making, learning to rely on your subconscious for wiser decisions. It’s more than just a gut instinct or quick reflexes. There’s an element of mastery when subconsciously noticing all the patterns and data without rationally analysing every detail.

Let me share with you an example I read about a few years ago:

In the Monaco Grand Prix, back in the 1950s, the race winner (Juan Manuel Fangio) braked as he came out of the tunnel on his second lap, which allowed him to avoid a mass pile-up. Other drivers accelerated rather than braked.
Why did he choose to brake instead?
Unbeknownst to him, his peripheral vision noticed that all the spectators were looking away from him rather than towards him. And while he didn’t make a conscious decision to brake, his body automatically knew that something was off.
Years of experience kicked in as the sea of faces was turned away and looking towards the accident rather than at the drivers exiting the tunnel.

This is intuitive decision-making: the ability to notice a subtle change in patterns (like the crowd looking another way) that guides you to a wise decision. Continue reading Intuitive decision-making: what you need to know

Internal self-awareness: how to trust your heart, mind and gut

communication, compassion, competence, consistency, emotional intelligence when you are lead by your heart, follow your heart, gut instinct, highest expression of the heart, inner balance, inner energy, inner life coaching, inner mastery, inner peace, inner wisdom, leading from your heart, mindful, mindfulness, mindfulness of our body, power of mind, satisfice, satisficing, self aware, self-awareness, thriving from the inside out, trust, trust your gut, trusting your feelings, trusting yourself, wellbeing is an inside job, authentically you, power of authenticity, authenticity,

Self-confidence is built on self-awareness. I have discovered – many times over – that clients who develop their interceptive skills live powerfully authentic lives.  It is this internal self-awareness that allows you to consider whether you:

  • follow your heart;
  • listen to your gut; or
  • sit with your thoughts.

Prefer to watch the video, rather than read this blog post?

But this is not a multiple-choice question where there is only one “right answer”.  You build trust and confidence in yourself when you align yourself (thoughts, feelings, beliefs, values and passions) with your actions.

Your sense of self is much greater than just your brain and mind, and you are not your thoughts, emotions, or even your actions. If you delve into this, you will notice you are the thinker, feeler and doer!

Authentic: how to be your glorious self, not a people pleaser

alignment, authentic people, authentic person, authentically you, authenticity, awareness, becoming me, choices, compassion, connection, courage, creativity, demonstrate real authenticity, desire, disengaged, examples of being authentic, exhausted, finding your voice, genuine authenticity, gut, head, heart, inauthentic, inner peace, inner wisdom, just be yourself, keep your word, know thyself, living up to expectations, people-pleasing, power of authenticity, self aware, self-preservation, self-worth, speak your mind, true wisdom, truly authentic, unfulfilled, unhappy, values, worthy

I always feel like I walk a thin line between being “nice” and being truly kind. Old me is a burnt-out people pleaser. To be authentic in relationships with people that used to know me before I started this journey is an ongoing lesson! See, with new acquaintances, it’s easier: they have no expectations of what I will be like or how I will express myself.  But in older relationships, I still have to catch myself.

Be authentic!
Stop acting and pretending, stop fawning and being “nice and polite” in socially acceptable ways. Instead, remember to show up as the kinder version of you.

Absolutely love my body at 47 years old!

absolutely love my body, learning to love myself, ideal weight, inner energy, inner eating, emotional eating, stuffing down emotions, creativity, courage, bold, intuitive, committed, in flow, courageous, aware, resilient

More than eighteen months ago, shortly after being certified as an mBIT Coach, I started the process of learning Innergetics with Shirley Billigmeier (author of Inner Eating) and Suzanne Henwood (mBIT Master Coach and Master Trainer). Innergetics takes the process of inner wisdom of mBraining and focuses it onto your relationship with food. I like to say it uses eating as a thermometer of what is happening in your life. So, I chose to study Innergetics because I wanted to focus on my gut-brain (enteric brain). I was regularly suffering from bloating and discomfort, looking to find a way to love my body again.
